White latex: A thermoplastic adhesive prepared by polymerization of vinyl acetate monomer under the action of an initiator. It is derived from petroleum and its cost fluctuates with the oil price. The second: EVA edge sealing, EVA is vinyl acetate polymer hot melt adhesive. EVA is currently a commonly used thermal sol for custom furniture, and more than 80% of the whole house custom processing plants use it to seal the edge, because it is a simple production process and cheap price.

The actual edge sealing effect of EVA hot melt adhesive also depends on the thickness of the edge sealing strip (it is recommended to use a thick edge sealing strip for the outer mouth), which is mainly affected by factors such as edge sealing machine technology and master technology. The disadvantage of EVA edge sealing is that for a long time, the glue line is easy to black in high temperature and high humidity environment, and it is not beautiful, and some manufacturers with poor quality may even appear degumming. Because the amount of glue applied in the edge sealing process (200-300g/㎡) is not uniform, that is, the amount of glue can not be accurately controlled, so there will be thicker glue line (0.1-0.2mm) after the edge sealing, weather resistance, heat resistance, solvent resistance are poor, yellow resistance 1-2 years, easy to grow mold. Especially in the kitchen, bathroom and balcony cabinets such as relatively high temperature and humidity scenes are used frequently, the disadvantage of EVA edge sealing will be more obvious. And the edge banding machine used edge strip price (0.5-1.8 yuan/meter), the EVA glue unit price is generally 10-30 yuan/kg.

The third kind: PUR edge sealing, PUR (Polyurethane Reactive) Chinese full known as wet curing reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive. The main component is terminal isocyanate polyurethane prepolymer. In the current global scope, in the field of edge sealing adhesives, PUR edge sealing is a better choice at present.

Advantages: 1, the reaction is irreversible, there is basically no problem of falling off the edge in the later period, like woodworking edge and EVA edge, but there is a risk of falling off in the later period. Whether it is high temperature or low temperature, the firmness of the edge will not be affected. High tensile strength, PUR tensile strength of more than 140N, sealing edge stable and durable. Check whether the edge is EVA or PUR, you can heat the edge with a hot dryer, EVA can be easily torn off after heating, but also easily glued. On the other hand, PUR is difficult to tear off, and after tearing, it will not stick again.

2, the solvent resistance effect is good in the south of high temperature and high humidity, the rainy season, and the upstairs water leakage, may lead to the edge falling off, the plate bubbling bad. Moisture-proof, mildew-proof, vapour-proof, weather-resistant, and solvent-resistant PUR perfectly solves this problem. Suitable for kitchen and bathroom, not afraid of moisture, moisture, high temperature, and a variety of seasoning baskets and toiletries corrosion.

3, the edge is more beautiful EVA edge is very common, the edge effect is also uneven, mixed. PUR because the glue wire is very thin, the aesthetic degree is second only to laser edge sealing. Preferred for detail-oriented groups.

4, the amount of glue used in PUR is only about 30% of EVA, and the glue used in edge sealing is less.

5, the use of wide PUR can glue acrylic materials, metals and other materials, but laser and hot air can not do.

Disadvantages: The price of glue is expensive, 5 times the price of EVA, and the cost is high. The processing speed is slow, which is not as efficient as EVA edge sealing.

The edge sealing strip and the edge sealing method complement each other, and the choice of the edge sealing strip is equally important in order to have a good edge sealing effect.

At present, the mainstream material of edge banding on the market is divided into two kinds: PVC edge banding and ABS edge banding

PVC full name Polyvinyl chloride (Polyvinyl chloride), a large production of plastic. PVC edge strip is made of mechanical pressing. Can show wood grain, double color, plain color and other plastic material sealing strip, heat resistance, oil resistance, wear resistance, and strength and hardness are very high. However, the PVC edge strip has the shortcomings of unstable color, not easy to degrade, and gradually has the trend of being eliminated by the international market

ABS, Acrylonitrile butadiene Styrene copolymer (Acrylonitrile butadiene Styrene copolymers). ABS edge banding is one of the most advanced materials in the world at present, the edge banding made of ABS does not contain any calcium carbonate, smooth and transparent, will not be white, relatively high-grade. ABS edge banding is chlorine free both in the manufacturing process and in the finished product. Unlike PVC, ABS can be incinerated with general waste, it is lighter in weight and highly heat-resistant. The impact resistance of this thermoplastic material is particularly important for office furniture. ABS is used as an alternative material to PVC banding in woodworking and wood processing, its characteristics are similar to PVC, but it is more weather-resistant itself, so there is no need to add a stabilizer.

Most of the edge bars on the market are made of PVC material, because the edge bars of PVC material are cost-effective and stable in performance, but the edge bars of ABS material are better than the edge bars of PVC material in the same color, which means that the edge effect is more beautiful, so the price of ABS is more expensive.
